Abstract: |
A desktop study was undertaken in advance of a proposed redevelopment. The study showed that the site was open land until the middle of the 18th century. It was then occupied by residential and commercial premises. Part of the site was the location for the Parish Hall of St. James, which was designed by William Venn Gough and damaged by bombing during the Second World War. [Au(adp)] |
