Abstract: |
A desk top study was undertaken to determine the potential archaeological impact of renovation and extension of the former British Legion club. The site lay within the circuit of Roman defences of Caistor and lay within the scheduled area of SAM 148. Saxon and medieval remains were also thought to be potentially present but information was insufficient to say at what depth such deposits may be encountered. Their state of preservation was not known and could only be established by further evaluation of the site. [Au(adp)] |
