Abstract: |
<summary>A watching brief examined the digging of trenches for a rear extension. Several features had been cut into the natural brickearth including two possible prehistoric ditches and a probable Anglo-Saxon pit complex. A small patch of burnt soil was also observed, as well as a gravel spread sealing the brickearth; the latter was first thought to be a gravelled surface, possibly a street, but further investigation suggested that it might have been only the base of the ploughsoil. {italon}Au(abr){italoff} {italon}SMR Primary Record Numbers:{italoff} SOU 423 (SCC HM investigation identification no) |
