Abstract: |
The study site lay in the village Chilton whose name derived from the nearby earlier settlement of Little and Great Chilton. A possible deserted medieval village was identified from earthworks at Cheat Chilton and also at Little Chilton. There was no settlement on the study site during the medieval and post-medieval period and it was therefore likely that the land was used for agricultural purposes. [Au(abr)] |
