Abstract: |
An archaeological excavation and watching brief was carried out on the site which was close to the Arbeia Roman Fort. The trenches were located to investigate features discovered in a previous evaluation. During the excavation, it became apparent that the two features were in fact part of a single larger north-east/south-west oriented feature, which terminated to the south-west within the limits of the excavation area. No dating evidence was recovered. During the watching brief, no archaeologically significant deposits or features were recorded. [Au(adp)] |
