Abstract: |
A watching brief was undertaken during the demolition of a petrol filling station and removal of petrol storage tanks. The work provided a useful overall view of the ditch area and the soils located by, and further north of the Wall area. Trench A confirmed the location of the Hadrian's Wall north ditch and therefore the approximate location of the Wall under the east-west aligned Hexham Road. [Au(adp)] |
