Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during ground disturbance associated with the construction of sheltered flats. Examination of foundation trenches at the site on two occasions revealed a uniform sequence of 1-2m of made ground containing modern tile and brick. This made ground precluded the occurrence of archaeological remains, and hence no evidence of any ancient activity was observed. No unstratified material was found during scanning of the spoil heaps. The watching brief was discontinued. [Au(adp)] |
