Abstract: |
A watching brief was held over trenches for the underpinning of the existing building on the site (of 16th century date), and for an extension. The site lay within a moated enclosure, taken to be medieval. Only one feature was identified, this was a small pit containing oyster shells. It was considered to be of probable medieval origin, but no evidence for the nature of any medieval occupation within the moat was recovered. [Au] |
