Abstract: |
The desktop assessment consisted of a documentary trawl and a geophysics survey, using resistivity. The documentary trawl produced no direct evidence of archaeological or historic activity within the footprint of the proposed development site. It was noted that up until earlier this century, the site appeared to have been in use as agricultural land, with associated buildings. There was the possibility of the presence of 18th century formal gardens, the resistivity survey identified various anomalies which could have related to this. The need for further fieldwork was recommended. [AIP] |
