Abstract: |
An excavation was undertaken following the results of an evaluation, in response to housing development. A large number of post holes, a few pits and a ditch were revealed. Pottery indicated a Middle Saxon (7th-9th century) date for the majority of the ancient features with a small amount of residual Iron Age and Roman material, along with a few isolated medieval sherds. The outline of at least one timber building was recognised and two small hearths were indicated by burnt areas. [Au(abr)] |
