Abstract: |
Archaeological recording work was carried out on an area of land proposed as an open cast coal quarry adjacent to Byermoor Farm. The topographical survey revealed the following. Western Way I Wagonway, also known as Bucksnook Way, Western Way II Wagonway, ridge and furrow cultivation, gully, drystone field walls, a concentric ring feature, a possible ring feature, an embankment trackway feature, circular depression, a trackway feature, an arc feature and a linear cropmark feature. There were eleven additional features revealed by fieldwork. [Au(adp)] |
