Abstract: |
Previous assessment had identified and evaluated the importance of a number of archaeological sites within in an area of a proposed woodland planting scheme. These included Mesolithic, Neolithic and Bronze Age flint scatters, possible Bronze Age crop marks and areas of probable settlement of Iron Age and Roman date. It was proposed that the effects of planting would be minimised by leaving open the areas of those sites identified as being of regional importance. Sites of local importance would be left partially open or planted over. [AIP] |
