Abstract: |
Two test pits were dug over the location of two previously dug bore holes. Medieval buildings including a church and a manor house are recorded as being located near the proposed area for a new building at Lulworth Camp. Trial pit one indicated that some earthmoving has taken place, truncating any vunerable archaeological deposits and trial pit two contains a buried land surface, suggesting infilling in the post-medieval or modern period.
