Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of a cable trench and the removal of a footpath at Symonds Yat promontory fort, a Scheduled Ancient Monument of Iron Age date (county no. 78). Small areas of underlying bedrock were revealed during footpath removal, but no archaeological deposits were disturbed. The cable trench crossed the inner bank and ditch alignment of the fort, but was situated above the surface of archaeological remains. [Au(adp)] |
