Assessment of proposed development at The Cursus, Lechlade, highlighted numerous prehistoric, Romano-British, Anglo-Saxon and medieval sites in the vicinity of the study area. The study area itself was situated within the bounds of the prehistoric monument known as the 'Lechlade Cursus' which formed part of a scheduled ancient monument (Gloucestershire SAM 413).
