Abstract: |
Archaeological observation of ground disturbance associated with a new retail development and car park revealed no evidence for the Parsonage Moat, a probably medieval complex, which covered part of the site. The earliest deposit recorded was an agricultural/horticultural soil of possible late 17th/early 18th century date. The area had been extensively disturbed by 19th and 20th century cellars, and a number of cellar walls corresponded to buildings on 19th century plans. [Au(abr)] |
