Abstract: |
In March 1993 East Midlands Electricity applied for Scheduled Monument Consent to replace an overhead power line across part of the Scheduled Ancient Monument (Warwickshire No 153) at Barbellows Farm, Wolston Grounds, Ryton-on-Dunsmore. The monument (Warwickshire SMR Ref No WA 4280) contains two prehistoric pit alignments which intersect north east of a partial sub-rectangular enclosure. Following the granting of Scheduled Monument Consent (June 1993), Warwickshire Museum observed the construction works undertaken in connection with the replacement of the overhead line when they proceeded in December 1993. No archaeological deposits were observed in any of the holes dug and no finds were recovered.[AIP] |
