Abstract: |
The creation of a vehicle track exit at the edge of a school playing field was observed and recorded archaeologically. The site lay a few metres south-west of the wine cellars of a royal manor, excavated during the 1970s. Further elements of the manor, a Scheduled Ancient Monument, lay to the east. During the watching brief, no archaeological features were revealed. A sherd of post-medieval pottery, several modern items and the remains of a modern wall were found. [AIP] |
