Abstract: |
The site lay within a few kilometres of a number of important prehistoric sites, although there was little evidence for activity of this period at Church End itself. Roman and medieval finds were known from the vicinity, with Roman pottery in the neighbouring field and ridge and furrow visible on aerial photographs. The site lay close to the medieval manor of Uphall, and was adjacent to two historic properties. [Au] |
