Abstract: |
An archaeological and cultural heritage assessment was undertaken in advance of proposed sand and gravel extraction. There were no previously recorded archaeological remains within the study area. Remains associated with post-medieval farming and forestry practices, and ridge and furrow cultivation were present in the area. Prehistoric flint had also been found in the surrounding area. As little archaeological work had been carried out in the area, further archaeological mitigation was recommended. [Au(adp)] |
