Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out at the proposed site of a small residential development, which lay at the centre of a medieval village. Part of a 2nd century AD field or enclosure system and two Late Saxon ditches had been observed at a nearby site, whilst surviving medieval remains had been recorded in a number of places. During the evaluation, Romano-British pottery, a possible Romano-British gully and boundary gullies dating from the 11th-15th centuries were revealed. Evidence of 18th-19th century activity was also noted. [Au(adp)] |
