Abstract: |
A desktop assessment of a sewage treatment works proposed for redevelopment for residential use highlighted the archaeological potential of the development site. Riverside areas were thought to be prime sites for settlement in all periods, but particularly during the prehistoric period. However, the construction of the sewage works may well have destroyed any archaeological remains that may have existed on the site. Evaluation or a watching brief over the redevelopment works was recommended. [Au(abr)] |
