Abstract: |
The evaluation revealed a medieval pit and ditch, as well as a series of undated post holes which may have been contemporary with these medieval features, or possibly earlier in date. Over the remainder of the site a series of palaeochannels were identified, marking former courses of the river Leach, as well as numerous smaller irregular features which were interpreted as natural hollows. A range of shallow linear features were also uncovered, which were judged on the basis of their regular appearance to be of human rather than natural origin. [Au(abr)] |
