Abstract: |
An evaluation was undertaken on the site of a proposed development of three houses. The evaluation located a deposit dated 17th century or later. It was cut by a shallow east-west aligned ditch containing modern artefacts. Shallow features found on the eastern side of the site suggested terracing had occurred between the medieval period and the present day. In addition, deep soils sealed a small linear feature and a shallow pit containing animal bone fragments and medieval pottery. These features and deposits were indicative of activity on the possible periphery of an early settlement. [Au(abr)] |
