Abstract: |
There was little evidence to suggest any significant prehistoric, Roman or Anglo-Saxon settlement remains in the vicinity of the site. The study site was to the north-west of the medieval town and abbey of Titchfield. Documentary and cartographic evidence suggested that the site was mainly used as agricultural land throughout the medieval and post-medieval periods and it was thought unlikely that any significant archaeological settlement remains would be on site although there was a slightly higher potential for scattered finds and finds related to agricultural land use.
