Abstract: |
Archaeological observation and recording at the Highbridge Street SAM at Waltham Abbey followed evaluation of the site in February 1998. The work was carried out during the construction of a new access road to serve a housing development on the site. The project revealed the extensive remains of the foundations of a succession of previous buildings on the site. These included the foundations of a surgery built in 1872, and evidence for the construction of a previous acetone factory and guncotton building on the site. [Au] |
