Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was carried out during the installation of a new gas service pipe under the Fossway Road, the location of which lay within the immediate vicinity of Hadrian's Wall and the Wall Ditch. The watching brief confirmed the location of Hadrian's Wall north ditch. The upper fill of the ditch was observed. The observations represented an important contribution towards defining the line of the wall and ditch in this urban area. [Au(adp)] |
