Abstract: |
A watching brief was carried out during the excavation of foundation trenches for a new school hall, at a site which lay across the boundary between the medieval town of Stratford-upon-Avon and an earlier Anglo-Saxon settlement. Two sherds of medieval pottery and two post-medieval sherds were recovered, as well as two pieces of tile and a fragment of clay pipe stem. No evidence of Saxon or medieval activity or of the borough boundary was observed. [Au(adp)] |
