Abstract
Bowmont; an environmental history of the Bowmont Valley and...
A detailed characterisation of palaeoecological and palaeoenvironmental landscape change in the region from the early Holocene to the present day. This suggested that anthropogenic landscape change only became a significant factor during the Late Neolithic, with population densities continuing to be low until the Iron Age. From this period the region began to be densely occupied until depopulation following agricultural restructuring in the eighteenth century.
