Church archaeology in Scotland and Man AD 1200--1600 is covered in `The archaeology of the Scottish church in the later Middle Ages' by Richard Fawcett (85--102) and `The medieval church on the Isle of man c 1200--1600' by Lawrence Butler (102--3). ` 'A landscape without churches': Wales AD 1200--1600'is explored by Lawrence Butler (104--111). Papers on post-Reformation churches begin with `Continuity, reaction and revival: church archaeology in England c 1600--1880' by Roberta Gilchrist & Richard Morris (112--26). The post-Reformation church in Scotland is discussed in `The emergence of the reformed church in Scotland c 1560 -- c 1700' by John G Dunbar (127--34) and `Disruption, unification and the aftermath: the church in Scotland 1700--1990' by Simon Green (134--43). `Reformation, restoration and revival: churches and chapels in Wales 1600--1900' is by A J Parkinson (144--58). Human remains are considered in `Archaeological study of church cemeteries: past, present and future' by Elizabeth O'Brien & Charlotte Roberts (159--81). Then `Legislation and management in England and Wales' is outlined by Carl Bianco (182-- 8), while `Church archaeology -- the legal position in Scotland' is covered by Edwina Proudfoot (189-- 96).
