Abstract: |
Companion to the volume published in 1989 (see 89/1567), this report covers a total of 1,147 artefacts connected with textile production that were recovered from the excavation, together with raw fibres, dyestuffs, teasels, and other biological evidence. The following contributions are included: `The excavation at 16--22 Coppergate' by R A Hall (1689--708); a summary of evidence for sheep parasites in Anglo-Scandinavian levels by H K Kenward (1715--18); a summary of work on dyeing and mordanting by A R Hall (1767--9); and `Teasels' by A R Hall (1774). |
