Abstract: |
SE 606521. The largest single excavated medieval graveyard group in England contained over 1000 inhumation burials associated with the five phases of the church (10th century to c 1550), although lack of detailed stratigraphy prevented precise dating. Detailed pathological and anthropological analysis of the skeletons and comparisons with those from other burial sites are given, and comment on burial practices etc provided. D M Palliser contributes a historical assessment. |
