Abstract: |
Analytical demolition of this cottage revealed the structure to be a post-&-beam house that had four main phases of construction dating from the beginning of the nineteenth century. After demolition, a limited phase of excavation was undertaken within the structure and elsewhere in the house plot; this work revealed that the site had formerly been a dwelling shared by humans and animals. An `Environmental report on the timber samples' is by D A Aldritt (20). The archive contents are listed in `Archival appendices' (23). |
