A commentary on a new website called History Matters Pass It On which is a partnership of the main heritage organisations in England and Wales. The aim is to ask for public signatures and views on history. Wales has a separate website although Scotland is excluded. The initiative is apolitical and it is argued that history cannot be so.

Excavation took place after the accidental disturbance of archaeological deposits and revealed evidence that the cave was used over a long period for the dumping of domestic refuse. The entrance was backfilled during the Iron Age and sealed by deposits including the burials of a woman and foetus along with a fetal pig.
