Abstract: |
Essex County Council Field Archaeology Unit carried out an archaeological excavation in advance of residential development on the northern edge of Fulbourn. It found medieval and post-medieval/modern remains and a small quantity of prehistoric and Roman features and finds. The medieval remains largely comprised pits and pottery and suggested low intensity activity on the edge of the village. The post-medieval/modern remains consisted of pits and post-holes and appeared to be related to the formerly adjacent farmyard of Queen''s College farm. |
