Abstract: |
Geophysical surveys of the proposed route of the A182 link road, Cold Hesledon, near Easington, Co. Durham. The work was carried out in 2007 by North Pennines Archaeology Ltd . The objective of the geophysical survey was to determine the presence of archaeology. 4 areas were investigated using geomagnetic survey. The survey detected a number of features which were associated with the former agricultural use of the site. A number of moderns service pipes were also detected. The most significant archaeological features detected were a series of ridge and furrow earthworks. Further work is recommended. |
