Abstract: |
AOC Archaeology Group were commissioned by Historic Scotland to undertake the excavation of a single, isolated cist, identified during ploughing. The partially complete cist was composed of edge set rounded stones on the north and east sides, placed within a construction cut 1.80 m east to west by 1.10 north to south. The floor of the cist was lined with a set of water rounded cobbles on which a single crouched inhumation was placed, with the head at the west facing south. Fragments of a beaker and a plano-convex knife was recovered from the cist. |
