Abstract: |
Three evaluation trenches were excavated at West Sleekburn, Bedlington, Northumberland, to test the archaeological potential of a proposed development site. All the trenches had identical stratigraphic sequences comprising thin, imported topsoil over clay subsoil that is likely to have been truncated. Frequent modern finds were present within the topsoil. |
