Abstract: |
A desk based assessment was carried out as part of a Conservation Plan for Jesus Green. This included a study of any archaeology relating to the Green and its environs as well as historical sources and maps. Significant findings included possible Civil War defences, a World War Two air raid shelter, and an excavation to the south, which revealed a high density of archaeological features dating from prehistoric times through to the post-medieval period. |
