Abstract: |
Between March and May 2006 NPA Ltd undertook an archaeological field evaluation on land at the Ray Estate, Kirkwhelpington, Northumberland. This evaluation was undertaken in response to a Written Scheme of Investigation (WSI) that was prepared by Mark Turner of RPS Planning Transport and Environment Ltd. This WSI was prepared in response to a proposed development for the site as a wind farm and generating station. The development will involve the construction of 20 wind turbines and associated infrastructure, including access roads, construction compounds, control rooms, cable and service trenches and the excavation of borrow pits (quarries). |
