Abstract:
An archaeological building survey was required as a condition of planning permission for the redevelopment of Britannia Mill. The mill was found to have been built in the 1850s and comprised of a cotton weaving shed with a 3 storey preparation and warehouse block, which was extended in the early 20th century, and a power plant comprising of an engine house, boiler house and a square stone built chimney.
