Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by Cotswold Archaeology during groundworks associated with the construction of a new country house on land at the former Spye Park House, Spye Park, Chittoe, Wiltshire. Seven red brick walls and a red brick arch were identified, which are the remains of cellars and foundations of the former Spye Park House, constructed in the mid 19th century. These walls had been heavily truncated and the cellars backfilled with material during the demolition of the house in the late 20th century. |
