Abstract:		 A watching brief was undertaken by Exeter Archaeology on groundworks for a development at The Cleave, Lynton. Groundworks were undertaken to establish a terrace for construction of a building and associated yard. The hillside was stabilised with gabions. A deposit of loose stone and clay was interpreted as modern disturbance. No features or finds of archaeological significance were observed.
