Abstract: |
On the 2nd and 3rd of November 2009, OA East conducted an archaeological evaluation at The Guides and Scouts Hut, Soham, Cambridgeshire (TL 5910 731), in advance of the construction of a new guide and scout hut. Within the development area, two small trenches were opened. A post-medieval to modern rubbish pit containing an abundance of glass bottles and ceramic jars was uncovered in the first trench. In the second trench a single Roman or Medieval ditch was located. Two fragments of human skeletal remains were also recovered from the ditch and from the topsoil during the archaeological works. |
