Abstract: |
An archaeological trench evaluation was undertaken by AC archaeology as a condition of planning permission for an extension to St Peter's School, Tavistock, to provide three classrooms and associated works. The principal archaeological interest on the site is the presence of three small circular mounds visible on historic aerial photographs (DCHER ref. 12639). These are presently recorded as possible prehistoric barrows. The evaluation comprised the machine-excavation of two trenches. No pre-modern archaeological features were present. |
