Abstract: |
Archaeology South-East (ASE), a division of University College London Field Archaeology Unit (UCLFAU), were commissioned by 4Delivery Ltd. to undertake an archaeological strip and map at the site of a proposed chemical storage building at Ford STC, Ford, West Sussex (Planning Reference: F/3/07). (NGR 499430 103045) (Figure 1). The fieldwork was undertaken between 15th-18th October 2007.The underlying geology, according to the British Geological Survey, consists of Brickearth, overlying sand and gravels underlain by Upper Chalk. Previous work near site has revealed features at 6.085 - 6.5 metres AOD with the base of features at c. 5.5 metres AOD (pers. comms Mark Taylor) No archaeology was observed |
