Abstract: |
An evaluation was carried out along the line of a proposed gas pipeline at locations where a prior gradiometer survey identified several magnetic anomalies and where the pipeline route was diverted to avoid the site of the former Threepwood Farm. The anomalies were shown to be the result of abrupt changes in the nature of the natural subsoils and bedrock. A substantial rubble drain was discovered close to the former Threepwood Farm. Vestigial traces of rig and furrow were also discovered but had been largely destroyed by ploughing. |
