Abstract: |
This report and archive has recorded the former Church of England School and has concentrated upon the historic school building which dates to the late 19th century. Though recently used as a school the building has suffered in recent years from theft and vandalism resulting in boarded windows and in parts severe water ingress. The original layout of the building remains clear and largely unaffected by subsequent renovation and extensions. An archaeological building record has been requested by Amber Valley Borough Council (AVBC) as a condition of planning consent, Ref. No. AVA/2009/0141. This consent allows the school to be demolished, in order to redevelop the site for residential use. |
