Abstract: |
Fieldwalking was undertaken on the area of a proposed extension to Cadeby Quarry. A flint flake and scraper were recovered, 7 sherds of medieval/early post-medieval pottery, 23 sherds post-medieval/modern pottery, a post-medieval/modern clay pipe stem and 10 pieces of post-medieval/modern ceramic building material. Anything obviously modern (C18th onwards) was not collected - the more widespread scatter of later material may indicate that the area was brought into arable cultivation in the post-medieval period. |
