Abstract: |
An archaeological watching brief was undertaken by ULAS, on behalf of Homes by Marshall Ltd, on land at 2-4 Millstone Lane, Syston Leicestershire (SK 636 120). This addressed the requirements from Leicestershire County Council, Historic and Natural Environment Team as archaeological adviser to the planning authority (Planning Application: 04/1263/2) and follows guidelines outlined in a Design Specification for archaeological work (ULAS Design Specification 04/552). The land is located in close vicinity to the historic core of Syston and therefore any groundworks on the site had potential to disturb areas of archaeological importance. The watching brief was carried out by ULAS on 10/01/05. No significant archaeological remains were evident. |
